Note the left photo is the female 6 pin Radio Shack plug and the right photo is the male 6 pin Radio Shack plug.  All female pins are surrounded with individual tubes.  The male pins are all in the open with the whole outside surrounded with a wall that will slide over and into the female plug.  This is true on all plugs.
